Terms of Service
Last updated: [to be completed]
1. Who we are
naulic tools (the "Service") is operated by [to be completed], [to be completed]("we", "us"). Contact: [to be completed]. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
2. The Service
The Service provides online calculators for the shipping industry: a Voyage Estimator and an OPEX Calculator. Results are computed from the figures you enter. The Service is a decision-support tool for professionals; it is not navigational, legal, financial or chartering advice.
3. Your account
- You need an account to use the calculators. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract, and you use the Service for your business or profession.
- One account is for one person. Do not share an account or sell access to it.
4. Plans and payment
- The free plan includes a limited number of calculations per tool per day. The limit is shown in each tool and on the pricing page and may change.
- The paid plans are recurring subscriptions, monthly or yearly, that include more calculations per day in both tools for as long as they are active; the pricing page states what each includes. An add-on adds calculations to the plan it is bought with and ends with it.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar (polar.sh), the Merchant of Record for all orders. Polar processes payments, handles sales tax and issues invoices, and its own terms apply to the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account; the plan then stays active until the end of the period already paid.
5. Refunds
Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not try to get around plan limits, the sign-in or any security measure, and do not access the Service by automated means other than the pages we provide.
- Do not overload, probe or disrupt the Service, or use it for anything unlawful.
- Do not copy, resell or reproduce the Service or its calculation methods.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
7. Calculations and your figures
You are responsible for the figures you enter and for the decisions you make with the results. We take care to calculate correctly, but results are estimates that depend on your inputs and on simplifying assumptions (for example, distances are entered by you and the map shows a great-circle reference, not a sea route). Check results before relying on them. We store the figures you enter and the result only when you save them; see the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, improve or discontinue features. If we discontinue the paid plan, we will not renew it, and paid time left in the current period remains usable or is refunded pro rata.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue or business, or for decisions made on the basis of a result. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end these Terms on notice if we stop offering the Service, or at once if you seriously break them.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page and, for material changes, tell account holders by e-mail before they take effect.
12. Law
Governing law and courts: [to be completed]. This does not take away mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
